The
Ken Trimmins Jazz Quartet (KTQ) is the most dynamic, versatile, and
professional jazz group in middle Georgia. These artistic musicians
perform regularly at restaurants, jazz clubs, weddings, and other
social functions around the Southeast.
If you appreciate listening to Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr.,
Najee, Al Jarreau, Chuck Mangione, Sade, and many other contemporary
jazz musicians as well as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter,
Charlie "Bird" Parker, Clifford Brown, etc., you will definitely
enjoy relaxing and even dancing to the sounds of The Ken Trimmins
Jazz Quartet.
KTQ was the realization of a dream over 20 years ago when Ken was
a college student. Ken states, "Back then I was a kid learning
how to play the trumpet and formally learning music, and of course
trying to make a few dollars here and there. Jazz has changed a lot
since then and my love for the artform has grown immensely."
He has performed in front of thousands of enthusiastic listeners all
over the country and overseas. He has also been a featured performer
at many renowned jazz festivals to include the Atlanta Montreaux Jazz
Festival, Jacksonville Jazz Festival, Clearwater Jazz Festival, and
Savannah Jazz Festival.
A highlight of Ken's career was when a performance was captured and
shown on BET Jazz in October 2000. Ken, a native of Brunswick, Georgia
is joined by extraordinary musicians. Craig Stevens, originally from
Denver, Colorado, plays keys and adds a wash of musical colors and
smooth sounds to the group. James Ryan, the newest member of the group
and bassist, from Columbus, Ohio sets the mood with an unwaivering
harmonic heartbeat. Last but certainly not least Jim Blanton, drummer,
from Winston Salem, North Carolina who can play a contemporary funk
beat on one tune and turn around and play a swing pattern Count Basie
himself would be proud to play on.
Coming from different parts of the country, The Ken Trimmins Jazz
Quartet brings a mixture of experience, talent, professionalism, and
unique playing abilities that combine to deliver an extraodinary punch
of musical excitement and enjoyment.
