Kenneth C. Trimmins

Trumpet

Mr. Kenneth Trimmins is in his third year as the Instructor of Trumpet at Albany State University where he currently teaches the trumpet studio, brass ensemble, jazz improvisation and instrumental conducting classes. During his first two years at ASU, Mr. Trimmins served as adjunct instructor while also working as a Graduate Assistant in the trumpet studio of Dr. Christopher Moore at The Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida.  In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Trimmins served on the music faculty of Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah, Georgia. 

Mr. Trimmins received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree from Valdosta State University, a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance degree from Mercer University, and has completed all of the necessary course work (ABD) toward a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in classical trumpet at The Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida and is currently working on his treatise.  Mr. Trimmins completed a distinguished twenty-three year career with the United States Air Force Band program where he performed with and served as the Director of Operations for nine touring ensembles and the musical director and band leader for three Air Force jazz bands in California and Georgia.

Mr. Trimmins has performed in venues all over the world in front of millions of people and countless millions more via many forms of media including television shows including the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, BET on Jazz, and many more. Most recently, Mr. Trimmins, a featured international classical soloist, performed with the Honduran Philharmonic Orchestra in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. United States State Department officials herald his performance as "a great success in our cultural exchange program and enabled us to showcase teamwork at its best." 

Mr. Trimmins has presented clinics and master classes all over the country and enjoys being able to perform in multiple genres of music.  Mr. Trimmins has two CDs entitled Smooth Moves and Live at The Ritz, on an independent label.
