February's News
January '04 was also a busy month, I actually played every weekend.
It was tiring but I enjoyed it a lot. I really didn't mind because
I knew the famine would come. I performed with my quartet "The Quiet
Storm", featuring Jamie Brown, Craig Wright, Marcus Brown, and a couple
of times Leroy Wilson. Also performed with "The Reflections Band"
featuring Bob Cummings and TV news anchorperson, friend and former
high school classmate Karla Sands-Heath at several locations around
Georgia.
February '04 has been a good month as well. Along with performing
with "The Quiet Storm" and all of the other groups mentioned earlier,
I had the opportunity to gig with "Gwen Hughes and the Retro Jazz
Cats." What a talent she is! I have several gigs with her within the
next few months and I'm looking forward to every one of them.
On Feb 27, I will perform in Macon, Georgia for the "After-five Annual
Black Tie Gala". This is my second year doing it and I really do appreciate
Win Roshelle, CEO and friend for having me back. This event will be
held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on First Street and Riverside.
The following day Feb 28, I will perform with my Alma Mater, Valdosta
State University in Valdosta, Georgia. I was the recipient of a music
scholarship with aided tremendously in my development as a professional
musician. This event is a scholarship fund raiser so that the music
program will continue to offer incentives and opportunities for musicians
to attend this absolute stellar institution of learning. Thank you
Ed Barr for the invitation!
Well, that's about does it for now. I can truly say that I've been
blessed and lucky that I have not experienced the "famine" yet. When
and if it does occur, I'll look at the time as a much deserved vacation.
I really appreciate you visiting the site. A very special "thank you"
to my cousin Keith Sutton for managing this website for me. If you
are interested in having a professionally done website created for
your business please contact me and I'll put you in touch with Keith.
He's the MASTER!
By the way, I have some music tracks on the site. To access them
from my home page, click on my picture located in the bottom right
hand corner. Please feel free to let me know what you like and what
you don't. My recording date is coming soon and I want to record things
you want to hear. Then maybe you will buy all of my CDs. (hope you're
smiling)
Take care and visit the site often.
I love you all, Ken |
